Family – married to my best friend Termite for 48 years. I met him in the 9th grade and I knew there would never be anyone else. We have 2 grown children and 4 grandchildren.
I was born in Stamford, Connecticut and my dad was in the Coast Guard so growing up we moved every 3-4 years somewhere in the US. I did live in Hawaii when my dad found out he had cancer. He passed away at age 44 and he was from Bertie County. So from that time on, I have lived in NC. I graduated from Bertie High School in 1967 and married one year later.
I was raised a Catholic but I truly turned over to Southern Baptist at the age of 20 and became a Christian. I worked in the secular world but stopped to raise my children. After 14 years at home a knock on my door brought moderator Nathan Copeland and DOM Lonnie Armstrong to my door. They asked me would I be interested in becoming the Secretary of West Chowan Baptist Association. WOW! I asked my husband what he thought and we prayed together and the Lord answered. This position is not a job it has always been a calling for me and after all these years I know I am in God’s will. I have been with the association 29 years and have seen over 467 pastors come and go from the churches along with working under 6 DOM's (of which 3 have passed on). It is my prayer that the Lord continues to give me good health to be his servant in this capacity. To God Be the Glory!
