Terry's Thoughts - December 2017
Just a brief article for an additional newsletter. We had originally designated November’s newsletter as a combined issue for November and December, however, there are a few matters we need to advertise, so we are doing an abbreviated newsletter for December. The following are the matters I wanted to share with you along with the others detailed in this addition of our newsletter:
PASTORS DON’T FORGET TO REGISTER FOR OUR CHRISTMAS DINNER scheduled for December 11, 2017 beginning at 6:30 P.M. no later than December 7. Eddie Thompson and his wife will be featured that evening along with great fellowship around a good meal. I look forward to having each of you there.
I want to announce a SPECIAL MEETING during our regularly scheduled Quarterly gathering on January 8, 2018 beginning at 7:00 P.M. Due to the recent security concerns surrounding churches we have managed to arrange for the sheriffs of North Hampton, Hertford, and Bertie counties to be with us in order to discuss ways we can protect ourselves while also being places that welcome those in need of Christ. In addition to the sheriffs we will have Risk Management experts from Church Mutual Insurance discussing liability issues that may affect each of us. I strongly encourage each of our churches to be represented at this critical meeting of our association.
January 16 marks the date of the Annual Brantley’s Grove Bible Conference. Pastor Jimmy Ward has been holding this conference for the last 34 years and each year the word is presented with great passion. This conference will begin at 4:00 P.M., have a break for dinner, and conclude by 9:00 P.M. that evening. For more information please call Pastor Jimmy Ward at 252-287-7450.
January 20 marks the date for the fourth Annual Potecasi Men’s Bible Conference. Registration begins at 8:00 A.M. and the conference kicks off at 9:00 A.M. We will continue to noon, break for lunch, and conclude around 3:00 P.M. that afternoon. Registration information should be available soon. For more information please contact Pastor Ricky Browder at 252-337-5550.
As we approach the Christmas Holidays please take advantage of all the extra services that many of our churches are presenting. Our newsletters are always up on the website if you missed the dates and times of events throughout the association. I pray you will have a great holiday season and know this that I am so honored to serve the sweet folks of West Chowan Baptist Association and I look forward to another great year of serving our Lord together.
