Dear Pastor and Ministry Leader,
During
this most unusual time, our churches and pastors have been on my heart
and in my prayers. COVID-19 has invaded most areas of our lives,
resulting in many changes to our lifestyle. The church has not been
immune to these changes.
I know that pastors have sought to lead
their congregations with caution and grace through unchartered waters,
and the weight of decisions related to church gatherings. As churches
have worked through making their individual decisions concerning their
response to this virus, one thing has become abundantly clear — people
have many different opinions which have complicated matters and
decisions within your local church.
This reality has created an increased burden on pastors. As your
convention staff members have been reaching out to pastors through phone
calls and other means to offer prayer, encouragement and assistance
during this pandemic, we have discovered that some of you are exhausted,
overwhelmed and lonely.
That's why I wanted to share a special word
of encouragement to our N.C. Baptist pastors and churches. In the video
below, I challenge every church in our state to increase the level and
intensity of their prayer as a congregation and strive toward unity
within the body of Christ. Will you join me in that effort?
I know this has been a difficult year for
everyone, especially those in ministry. Please know that your convention
staff is praying for you, and if there is anything that we can do to
serve you, don't hesitate to reach out to us.
In His Service,
