Terry's Thoughts November 2017
Fresh off an amazing Fall Annual Meeting I continue to be excited about what God is doing as a result of our corporate worship and prayer time experienced at Union Baptist Church. It was so reassuring to see many of you, gathered there at Union Baptist Church, crying out to the Lord for revival and awakening. I want to express my deepest appreciation to our association choir, Kenny Lamm (Senior Worship Consultant BSCNC), and Dr. Chris Schofield (Director of the Office of Prayer BSCNC) for all their efforts to make what we experienced a huge success. God was truly a part of what happened. If you were not able to attend this year’s meeting please circle Sunday October 21, 2018, the scheduled date for our next Fall Meeting. We will meet at Cashie Baptist Church in Windsor.
As we all know any great movement of the Lord has always been preceded by a season of genuine heart felt prayer. Beginning with our annual meeting, last month, we have embarked on a journey that will result in Jesus hearing and attending our prayers. My hope is that you are continuing to cry out to the Lord for a miraculous movement among your fellow church members. If we will continue to cry out, to the Lord, the lost will come to faith in Christ, broken relationships will be repaired, and churches will be set on fire! Will you commit to pray toward His movement in our lives and churches?
The following are a few important dates for November and December that I would like to point out to you:
November 6-7 the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina will meet in Greensboro for their annual meeting. If you are interested in attending please go to their website ncbaptist.org for housing and registration.
November 13 – Pastor’s Fellowship, beginning at 10:30 A.M., will feature Dr. Chuck Register. We will continue in our series of “Living Out Biblical Essentials in Every Day Ministry.” Dr. Register will share with us some ways we can avoid a crisis before it becomes a crisis while doing every day ministry. Please register at westchowan.org your attendance. We are providing lunch.
November 9 - Men’s Worship Rally being held at Rocky Hock Baptist Church in Edenton. Please register at baptistonmission.org.
December 2, here at the MRC, the annual WCBA Leadership Retreat beginning at 9:00 A.M.
December 11, here at the MRC, is the annual Pastors and Wives Christmas Dinner. We will have Eddie Thompson (Senior Consultant Pastoral Ministries BSCNC) and his Wife providing our entertainment. Please register at our website westchowan.org.
The Lord has accomplished a great deal this year through our churches and to list all of those accomplishments would take all the space we have in our newsletter, therefore, let me say, “WOW how our Lord has been busy among His people here in the WCBA!” We have seen many come to Christ as their Savior, many recommit their lives to Him, pastors move on, new pastors arrive, new buildings dedicated, many involved in discipleship, several mission trips made, many participating in Disaster Relief efforts all over this country, and a host of other great events promoting fellowship. To have missed any of these opportunities means you have missed a blessing. I hope and pray even more of us will be involved and committed to our purpose of assisting the churches of the WCBA to make “Christ Followers who Follow Christ” in 2018. Remember I love you and I hope you will enjoy all of the holiday activates surrounding Thanksgiving. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
