Terry's Thoughts November 2019
As we turn our hearts and minds toward the upcoming holiday season let’s do just a bit of review of another amazing October. Just in my world alone, October meant we were able to participate in revivals, anniversaries – especially significant ones with Meherrin (290 years and Connaritsa 230 years) – harvest Sundays, a Spiritual Roundtable at Caswell, pastor appreciation celebrations (I certainly hope all of you took the opportunity to appreciate your pastor and staff), along with a number of other great October celebrations and activities which resulted in new life for the Kingdom. Finally we celebrated our 136th Annual Meeting. Conway Baptist Church hosted this great event and were perfect host. THANKS SO MUCH CONWAY!!! From our opening time of worship, business, reports, testimonies, special musical presentations, choir pieces, and an amazing message from Josh Reed of the BSCNC everything went very well. Topping off a great meeting was the fellowship we experienced with each other. It is a great time to be a part of the BEST ASSOCIATION IN THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA!!
The following are a few of the important events and times to remember for November:
- November 4 – The monthly pastor’s fellowship beginning at 10:30 A.M. (Please register on our website westchowan.org). Additionally, the Annual Baptist Women’s World Day of Prayer beginning at 7:00 P.M. here at the MRC.
- November 7 – The BSCNC Baptist Men’s Worship Rally beginning at 6:15 (with a meal) here at the MRC. It is critical that you register as soon as possible at our website.
- November 10-12 – Marks the dates for the Annual Pastor’s Conference and State Convention of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina. It will be held in Greensboro and registration and lodging information is located at ncbaptist.org. On Monday of that week, November 11, Greta and I will host our pastors and wives for lunch at Smokey Bones, just across and down the street from the Korey Convention Center.
- November 14 – Marks the date for the Annual Appreciation Fundraising Dinner sponsored by the Family Resource Center of Ahoskie. Dinner begins at 7:00 P.M. and will be held here at the MRC. Please register by calling their office at 252-862-4777.
- November 18 – 21- The trailer, from Galatia Baptist, will be here at the office for Christmas Shoebox collection. The trailer will be picked up on Thursday November 21.
- November 27 – The office will be closed in both Wednesday and Thursday November 28 in observance of Thanksgiving.
As you can see, from the few items mentioned above, we are still busy about the business of the Association and consider it a privilege to serve you. Don’t forget that the ACP’S (Annual Church Profiles) are due OCTOBER 31. Thank all of you who were able to complete them. Don’t forget to call any time there is a need and know that I love each of you and consider it my privilege to serve the, once again, BEST ASSOCIATION IN THE STATE!!
